Two sound recordings made during the holiday period.
The first was recorded on the beach at Happisburgh in Norfolk . Despite days of cold winds and freezing fog, the trip on new year’s eve was a delight. It was a much milder day. The surrounding countryside was greyed out in a mist that muffled out the traffic noise.
Down by the sea the gentle waves made as much noise as they could muster in a very gentle breeze.
A couple of days later and the temperatures dipped again. In my garden in Norwich the lawn crunched with the sound of a light, unseen ground frost. The sun shone brightly and cooly but there was more than enough to lift the hearts and voices of the birds.
